We never thought that this pair could hit it off! We always had our doubts because this was as unusual a pairing as it could be. Jim Carrey was the certified goof and he was very much off screen what he was on it. And Jenny McCarthy was a beauty, one that took your breath away. But they did stick around for some years and that came as a surprise to even the most romantic ones! The cynics have the last laugh here, though. The pair has finally called it quits, announcing through their individual reps that they were no longer together.

They lasted some five years. And when they did announce their break up, it came as an unpleasant shock to many. Jenny McCarthy was the first one to issue a statement about the break-up. She said, “I’m so grateful for the years Jim and I shared together. I will continue to be in his daughter’s life and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart.” That was sincere, if you ask us. There has always been the active speculation that they may walk down the aisle sometime in the future. As it stands, there is little chance of that happening.

Jim Carrey’s rep was quick to confirm that Jim has ended his relationship with Jenny. The rep said, “Jim and Jenny… are grateful for the many blessings they have shared and wish each other the very best.” There was a personal confirmation as well from Jim Carrey on Twitter: “Jenny and I have just ended our 5yr relationship. I’m grateful 4 the many blessings we’ve shared and I wish her the very best! S’okay!”
